The SLB drive with self-locking brake

A good idea does not always become a reality and often enough a first-class concept never reaches the market. Our SLB drive took time, too, but now it is on its way to series production!

Lift drives often have a conceptual problem: on the one hand, they should be self-locking so that the load cannot drop in the event of a power failure. On the other hand, the highest possible load should be lifted as highly efficiently as possibile. Self-locking and efficiency, however, usually move in opposite directions: the improvement of one causes the deterioration of the other.

We have solved the problem by transferring the self-locking mechanism of our SLB drive into an innovative, in-house developed brake. This state-of-the-art brake must operate wear-free throughout its entire service life and guarantee 100% reliability. We patented the brake together with Siemens.
