Fields of application:

It is simply impossible to present a general description of our special Langguth drives because they are as multifaceted as are the wishes of our customers. Our task is to convert customer-specific requirements and ideas into durable and inexpensive special gearboxes.

The fancier and trickier the requirements are, the more creative the Langguth development and design team is when it comes to transforming the customer’s ideas and wishes into the most perfect product. It is absolutely unthinkable for us to outrule a good design idea simply because the drive with the required parameters is not available on the market. Thanks to our long years of experience, our Langguth team makes possible what seemed impossible before, even if the task asks for unconventional solutions.

Combined special drive

The requirements cannot always to be met with a single gear type, worm gear or planetary gear. But perhaps with a combination of
special gears? A planetary gear in combination with a worm gear? Or a double worm gear paired with a spur gear? The options regarding special Langguth drives are almost unlimited.

Primarily relevant for dimensioning are the technical specifications of the gearbox on the output side.

Traffic engineering

In traffic engineering, the S25 VGU has been developed for bridging the gap between train door and subway platform. The many highlights it incorporates become obvious only when we take a second look:
– self-locking, but can be moved by hand during emergency operation
– sensitive switch-off option in the event of an obstacle, but maximum starting torque in the event of frost and many other extras at an installation height of only 45 mm

SS99 ZI

C-arm lift drive

The C-arm lift drive SS99-ZI has many highlights. Its small size of just 40 mm at the output shaft maximizes the travel range. The permanent brake acting in one single direction allows a three-dimensional trigger in up and down direction. And last but not least: the maximum travel distance is unmatched in this small design.

In medical engineering, for example, spindle drives are used for the movement of examination tables running in and out of CT scanners. In the case of our particularly heavy-duty 533 AD, the drive is supported by a spiral spring which buffers free energy from the vertical movement in the lower section.
